In 2018, Tyndall Air Force Base took a direct hit from Hurricane Michael’s 170 mph hurricane-force winds causing catastrophic damage. Ongoing is a five-to-seven-year rebuild effort that includes 44 new military construction, or MILCON, and 260 facility sustainment restoration and modernization, or FSRM projects, valued at $4.9 billion. GMF Steel Group is furnishing and erecting the structural steel packages for three new Ops/AMU Hangars, Flight Simulator, Weapons Load Training Hangar, F-35 Logistics RSF, and Corrosion Control Facilities.
