Southwest Florida International Airport – Major Milestone

Reminiscing on a major milestone for GMF at Southwest Florida International Airport.

This critical lift was executed using three cranes—two 160-ton rough terrain cranes lifted the 60,000-pound truss into position, while a 110-ton all-terrain crane carefully set the supporting steel members to stabilize the truss. By design, the truss connection required over eight hours of 5G welding, which had to pass ultrasonic testing before the cranes could be released.

Our field team was on site before sunrise to ensure the erection process was completed, and the cranes were released before the end of the shift. This is the craftsmanship it takes to build the future.
