In 2018, Tyndall Air Force Base took a direct hit from Hurricane Michael’s 170 mph hurricane-force winds causing catastrophic damage. The goal of this expansion was to create a seamless, streamlined, experience for Tampa International Airport passengers who do not require checking bags at Ticketing or stop at Baggage Claim. The elevated roadway concrete was complete prior to steel erection leaving only one entry point to deliver steel. GMF was challenged to maneuver through existing concrete columns with only a 25-foot gap.
